Sessions & Fees
There can be confusion about the difference between counselling and psychotherapy and, understandably, they are often seen as being interchangeable. However, essentially, counselling focuses on a specific issue within a discrete, pre-agreed timeframe. Psychotherapy is a longer process which facilitates exploration and resolution of more complex or embedded problems and patterns of behaving.
In therapeutic work, it is usual to meet weekly for one therapeutic hour (50 mins) and for sessions to take place at the same time each week. Whilst this structure tends to suit most people, my practice is to shape the therapy to meet each person’s needs and preferences. Therefore, at times, it might be more beneficial for the client to reduce to fortnightly sessions after a period of weekly therapy, to meet more frequently than once weekly or to meet for sessions that last longer than 50 minutes.
I also provide intensive EMDR, which is an evidenced approach to processing and resolving specific issues / problems within a short time frame. Suitability for EMDR Intensive Programmes would be determined together in an initial assessent session.
The therapy objectives, structure and process are reviewed together on an ongoing basis, always focusing on the client’s personal situation.

I do not liaise direct with insurance providers and I will provide a receipted invoice for you to submit to your insurer.
